Girl, BREATHE! is a community (a movement), created exclusively for women Founders, Presidents and CEOs to engage in experiences designed for their enjoyment and peace, so that they can refuel for the work they do as the top leader of organizations and businesses they have established or have been tapped to lead. Women are notorious for giving their all to what they do for others, leaving little to nothing for themselves. Girl, BREATHE! is where we help women Founders, Presidents and CEOs, put the oxygen mask on themselves first, so they can assist others.
The idea of Girl, BREATHE! came in 2020 when I was only 7 months into my journey of full-time entrepreneurship and COVID stopped the entire world in its tracks. I had just left a successful, well paying career as a legal and human resources professional in the financial services industry with major global brands (follow my career on LinkedIn). Only to have both my event planning and travel businesses come to a screeching halt in March of 2020. Between April and May of 2020, I lost 4 family members to COVID. My recovery from the ankle surgery I had right before the world shut down was complicated by a blood clot in my leg that was strategically treated by my doctors so I could avoid going into the hospital, where COVID patients were fighting for their lives. On December 14, 2020, my husband had a brain aneurysm rupture and a stroke. Life drastically changed again. But I came through these major life challenges because I had a support system that gave me the place and space to step back and BREATHE, so that I could do what I needed to do to come through it and survive. During the past 18 months, I've talked with a lot of women Founders, Presidents and CEOs who were going through difficult circumstances themselves, while still running businesses and organizations. They were grateful to have the moments we shared to lift each other up and be encouraged. So the idea of Girl, BREATHE! wouldn't go away. I had so much on my plate. But the women I talked with kept asking me over and over again about connecting with other boss women in a fun and exciting way. They were waiting for me to put something together. So it was through my homework assignments for business strategy coaching sessions with Tracy J Edmonds that the name and purpose of Girl, BREATHE! were birthed. So we begin this movement's first experience in its birthplace of Brooklyn, NY, at a fabulous tea house owned by Ms. Honey Moon (no typo). I discovered Brooklyn High Low during a summer staycation in Brooklyn and it has become a special place for me. This first gathering will be intimate, with seats for 14 boss women who will carve out 2 hours for themselves on Sunday, October 24, 2021, to have high tea with other women Founders, Presidents and CEOs. You will experience a wonderful tea service (NOLA is my favorite house tea), good music (think Bridgerton), good vibes and some signature gifts, crafted by women owned businesses. The things this community will do is starting in Brooklyn, but will literally travel the world to support and lift other women Founders, Presidents and CEOs to higher levels in their purpose. We're extending an exclusive invitation to hand selected women Founders, Presidents and CEOs to join us and Girl, BREATHE!
